Q:  What is a PEO?

A:  A PEO is a Professional Employer Organization.  A PEO handles a company's administrative and HR functions including payroll tax filings, payroll, benefit administration, garnishments, unemployment hearings and much more.

Q:  Is a PEO a staffing agency or temporary organization?

A:  No. 

Q:  Will I lose control of my business or employees?

A:  No.  Actually a PEO handles the administrative portion of your business and allows you to gain more control.  You are free from administrative issues which allows you to focus on what you do best - build your business.  You will retain full supervision, and responsibilty for, your worksite employees and their work.

Q:  Why do I need a PEO?

A:  You are an expert in your industry and not a Human Resources expert.  By allowing the PEO, a specialist in Human Resources,  to handle your adminstrative issues, you will be free to grow your business and mitgate the risk of costly employee issues.

Q:  Why are you so successful in the Construction industry?

A:  We manage the risks of employment throughout the entire employment cycle and we pass on the savings to our clients.  We do not ask them to be experts in employment law-we simply ask them to pick up the phone and call us.

Q:  How is your insurance managed?

A:  A Special Investigation Unit investigates and reduces the number of fraudulent insurance claims that put your company at risk.  It works directly with  the employees to make sure that they get the medical care they need and are back on the jobsite as soon as possible.

Q:  Am I locked into the program for any length of time?

A:  Absolutely not.  Participation is from payroll to payroll.

Q:  How do you change what I am doing now?

A:  We don't.  We do not change your current business operation.  In fact, we assist you to make it better.  Your job costing and hourly computations will continue to be done exactly the same way by the same person.  If it works, why fix it?  Your internal payroll administrator simply prints  a payroll report off your system and it is double entered into our system programs.

Q:  How long has the PEO Partner been in business?

A:  16 years.

Q:  Is there a setup fee?

A:  Yes, $2500.00  in most cases.

Q:  How do I submit my payroll?

A:  Your in-office payroll administrator will submit employee hours either by direct data entry or on an authorized payroll report.  Your company will have several options for issuing payroll.  It can be printed on site, loaded into payroll cards, or pre-printed and sent by overnight mail to your business for traditional delivery.

Q:  Do the payroll checks clear out of my account?

A:  This is an option available to you.

Q:  If I have an injury on the jobsite, what do I do?

A:  Call us immediately.  Your account representative will handle everything after the initial call and keep you updated on the progess of the claim.  The main goal is to get the employee back to work as soon as possible.

Q:  What is a Profit and Overhead Expense?

A:  What it costs you to manage your employees- from hiring and firing, to insurance, to unemployment costs, to payroll administration, to benefits management.  It all adds up.  According to the US Government, the average HR expense for a US employer is 8.45% of gross payroll.  For most Fortune 500 companies the HR expense is 5-7%, and is unavoidable.  We aggregate your employees with ours, creating a large group of employees, and thereby reduce the expense down to about 5%.

Q:  Do you increase my costs?

A:  No.  In fact, we significantly reduce your annual costs and even more importantly, your liability as an employer.  All it takes is one lawsuit to put you out of business.

Q:  Is this Employee Leasing?

A:  Yes.  Our PEO Partner will become the Administrative Employer.  Your company will be the Worksite Employer and both companies will be jointly repsonsible for the employees in their respective areas of oversight.

Q:  How long does it take to enroll?

A:  Your company can be enrolled in as little as three days, providing the paperwork is complete.

Q:  Who is administratively responsible for the employees?

A:  We are.  We assume the tax reporting and governmental accountability and responsibilities, freeing you to manage your company's revenue producing tasks.  We manage your human resource requirements in accordance with constantly changing State and Federal guidelines.  You remain responsible for your worksite employees and their work. 

Q:  Do you replace any of my employees?

A:  No.  We do not want to replace anyone in your operation.  We need your office personnel to assist us in doing everything possible to reduce your costs and your risks.

Q:  Who do we work with at your company?

A:  We give you the benefit of having your employee issues managed by experienced professionals with decades of experience in human resource issues unique to the construction industry.  IMS will handle all your day- to- day  HR needs and work with you within the PEO Partner's proprietary systems.  You will be assigned  a representative who will diligently work with you to achieve your goals.

Q:  Are you going to change my job costing and accounting software programs?

A:  No.  We do not want to change anything that you are doing now.  You have already invested a considerable amount of time and energy into developing your company and we definitely respect your investment.

Q:  What about Certified Payroll Reports?

A:  We have one of the most advanced software programs available in the industry, so  Certified Payrolls and special reporting requirements are handled by a simple 'press of the button'.
